Code of Conduct

Last updated July 22, 2026

How partners must behave when promoting Dune Sale brands. Applies alongside the Partner Agreement and Terms of Service.

Section 01

Represent brands honestly

In plain English

Don't lie about what a brand does, don't invent features, don't promise outcomes brands haven't authorized.

Partners shall represent each promoted Brand truthfully. Prohibited representations include: features the Brand does not offer, guarantees the Brand has not authorized (for example, “100% approval” or “guaranteed refund”), price points not currently offered, or endorsements from figures who have not endorsed the Brand.

Section 02

Disclose affiliate relationships

In plain English

Add a clear affiliate disclosure near your links. Follow local rules (FTC in US, ASA in UK, etc.).

Partners shall provide clear and conspicuous disclosure of the affiliate relationship in accordance with the requirements of the jurisdiction where their audience resides, including but not limited to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission Endorsement Guides, the U.K. Advertising Standards Authority CAP Code, and equivalent EU regulations. The phrase “This post contains affiliate links” positioned above the fold near the promotion is generally sufficient.

Section 03

No fraud, ever

In plain English

No fake signups, no self-referrals, no cookie stuffing, no bot traffic. Doing any of these gets you banned network-wide.

Partners shall not engage in any form of affiliate fraud, including:

  • Self-referral through your own or a friend’s account
  • Cookie stuffing (auto-loading tracking links without user action)
  • Bot-generated clicks or conversions
  • Falsely inflating traffic reports
  • Impersonating the Brand’s official website or communications

Violations result in immediate account suspension, balance forfeiture, and reporting to upstream affiliate networks.

Section 04

Respect brand-specific rules

In plain English

Every brand card has a Rules section. Read it. It supersedes anything you thought was 'standard'.

Each Brand publishes its specific promotional rules on its Brand card in the partner dashboard. Where those rules conflict with general practice, the Brand’s rules govern. Common Brand-specific rules include restrictions on paid search bidding, coupon promotion, and prohibited traffic geographies.

Section 05

Communications with brands

In plain English

For brand-specific questions, use the in-portal support inbox and tag the brand. Don't contact brands directly through their support channels.

Partners shall not contact Brands directly through the Brand’s standard customer-support channels regarding partnership matters. All partnership questions shall be routed through Dune Sale support, which will liaise with the Brand as appropriate. This prevents partnership issues from clogging Brand customer-support queues and preserves your position within our partner tier.

Section 06

Consequences

In plain English

First: warning. Repeat: brand access revoked. Fraud: account suspended, balance forfeit, ban shared with upstream networks.

Enforcement follows this general escalation:

  1. First offense: written warning; affected conversions may be reversed at Dune Sale’s discretion.
  2. Repeated offense: revocation of access to the specific Brand and probationary status account-wide.
  3. Fraud or severe violation: immediate account suspension, forfeiture of all balances, and reporting of the Partner’s identifying information to upstream affiliate networks in accordance with our data-sharing agreements.
